MindHarp in the Community

Neurologic Rehabilitation

MindHarp is used by Chiltern Music Therapy and the music therapy team at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN). MindHarp simultaneously provides the kind of physical, neurological and emotional stimulus to help people with brain or nervous system damage on their road to recovery.

Dementia Care

MindHarp began its journey as we know it today working directly with people living with dementia. Founders Stewart and Mark spent a year evolving bespoke technology and sounds by building on the direct experience and empirical evidence gained at first hand.

Community & Peace-building

The origins of MindHarp are in bringing people together through music to build peace and social cohesion. It started in the Middle East with Gazan Palestinians and Israelis and has continued in Northern Ireland. We work with like-minded NGOs and individuals across the globe.

Testimonials

For Teachers and Kids…

MindHarp has enabled me to promote mindfulness and emotional literacy with all of my students. It creates a holistic environment where students can explore, address and reflect on their current state of mind. I have used it as a 'Mindful Moment' activity after playtimes and as a structured activity to help students with their anxieties, worries and thoughts. It is a powerful tool with the ability to calm and focus whole classes of students to enable them to focus on their learning and develop a positive atmosphere within the classroom. I am looking forward to further updates with the app and seeing the long term benefit in my students. I recommend that all teachers and support staff use this app to help support, nurture and promote a positive learning environment where their students can learn feeling safe, secure and creative.

For Mindfulness and Wellbeing Practitioners…

What a fantastic and unique app! ...accessible even for people like me, a non-musician and with no musical talent. it has a naturally calming effect on my mind and body and hugely beneficial for people with anxiety, depression and feelings of stress and being overwhelmed

Kerry Munro, Accredited Mindfulness Teacher and Occupational Therapist

MindHarp is an app that I could instantly engage with...not fussy or difficult to use, which means in no time at all and depending on my mood I can switch off from the outside world and immerse myself in the sounds of MindHarp...after a 15 minute session I feel a similar level of relaxation that I get after a yoga class

For Carers and Activity Coordinators…

Using the MindHarp at our groups has led to some great interactions and really interesting conversations. The MindHarp is not only about music, it can be used to support a wide-range of stimulating activities. Our experience of using the MindHarp has been that it is easy to use, without the need to be a skilled musician and most of all good fun!’
